Bullies and Beatitudes
I just learned today that a kind, wonderful friend is being bullied at work. That's right. Is the workplace now becoming the new nest for bullies? Have they gone beyond schools? Maybe its time to rethink our laws so that it extends protection to those who are in the work environment.
Torture. Persecution. Deprivation. Self-pity.
Those are probably the things that are lingering inside the head of bullies. They have been victims once and maybe they never got the chance to fight back or redeem themselves from their perpetrators. And when they change environment, they change personalities. They spot a favorite target (usually unreachable, mysterious ones), and they keep taunting them. Why? The feeling makes them strong.
The problem? They are making innocent people suffer for their own weaknesses, insecurities and personality disorders. Bullies most likely wouldn't know they are bullies because they are just proud and they would love to cover up their own flaws. Maybe you'd like to see a psychiatrist first?
Bullies, did you know that those you victimise would get rewards from heaven? Or that too, you'd like to argue against because you're pundits?!
Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
Gospel of St. Matthew 5:3-10
Bullies, you'll never get to see heaven because you are not one of the pure of hearts. Neither are you children of God because you cause trouble and pain, you won't obtain mercy because you don't show compassion and mercy. You will be haunted by dissatisfaction and undying race to fulfil yourself because you deprived other people with justice that should be theirs.
Scary, isn't? These aren't from me. These are the inverse of the beautiful beatitudes of Jesus Christ.
Still want to be a bully??
